Thematic reports prepared for the 10th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region
There are three principal aims of this report. Firstly, it attempts to assess the challenges and opportunities connected with the circular economy for the EUSBSR countries. Secondly, it analyses the current state of circular economy in the EUSBSR countries. Thirdly, the report looks into the future, trying to identify key trends that will impact the BSR countries until 2030, and on that basis project the future development of the circular economy, along with alternative scenarios.
The report showcases 28 examples of best practices on circular economy that can inspire other actors in the region and globally. Together, these illustrate some of the current trends and future needs of a shift towards a circular economy.
This brochure is a joint effort of the key stakeholders of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) dedicated to the current and future implementers. After 10 years of the launch of the EUSBSR we wish to look back in time and present to the world our good work and some of the achievements.
The paper analyses the achievements and shortcomings of the Strategy from economic perspective with focus on externalities, public goods (also club goods, common-pool resources), economies of scale and scope and transaction costs.
This paper has been developed to identify the most promising ways of continuing with the EUSBSR after 2020, bearing in mind Polish experience with implementation of the Strategy.
