TRAVEL

Gdańsk is a Polish city on the Baltic coast. It is the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the capital of Kashubia, Poland's principal seaport and the centre of the country's fourth-largest metropolitan area. The city lies on the southern edge of Gdańsk Bay (of the Baltic Sea), in a conurbation with the city of Gdynia, spa town of Sopot, and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto), with a population approaching 1.4 million, making it the largest city in the Pomerania region of northern Poland.

Tricity is very well communicated with other polish and european cities being the most important transport hub of northern Poland.

AIRPORT

Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport is the 3rd largest airport in Poland in terms of passenger traffic (4.6 million passangers in 2017). It is located 12km from the city center of Gdańsk.

How to get Gdańsk city center from the Airport?

RAIL

Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna (PKM, Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway) connects Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport with Gdańsk Wrzeszcz Railway Station. It connects to the Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM, Fast Urban Railway) which provides further connections to the Gdańsk Main Railway Station by frequent trains. Tickets for the train to and from Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport can be purchased in ticket machines located at stations throughout the city. Tickets are also sold in the trains by the conductors and they should be in this case purchased immediately after getting on the train. Regular tickets to and from Gdańsk (City ticket) cost 3,80 PLN one way.

BUS

The following city bus lines connect the airport: to Gdańsk city centre - Route 210 via Gdańsk-Morena, Gdańsk Main Railway Station, old city; to Gdańsk Wrzeszcz Railway Station - Route 110;  night bus - Route N3 to Gdańsk Wrzeszcz Railway Station and Gdańsk Main Railway Station.  For more information about schedule please click here. How to get Gdańsk city center from the Port of Gdynia?

TRANSPORT COMBINED BUS/TAXI - RAIL

There is a direct bus to and from the Stena Line Ferry Terminal - Route "F" with destination Gdynia Railway Station. The bus station is located on Constitution Square. From Gdynia Railway Station you can take Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM, Fast Urban Railway) which provides further connections to the Gdańsk Main Railway Station by frequent trains. TAXI

There are many taxi companies to choose from in Gdańsk. Approved taxis with metered fares always bear  number plates. Credit cards are readily accepted. Taxi prices are not regulated in Poland; they may vary greatly. It is the customer's responsibility to check prices beforehand. Check the price on the label, which is usually on the rear door window, before entering the vehicle. The price indicated on the taximeter is in PLN. For trips to and from Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport the major taxi companies have fixed prices of between 80-120 PLN and 30-40 PLN from/to Gdynia Stena Line Ferry Terminal - Gdynia Railway Station. Always ask the driver beforehand.
